Hazardous winter conditions are expected. A low pressure system near Nova Scotia this evening is tracking toward the Gaspé Peninsula. Snow associated with this system will affect the above-mentionned regions beginning on tonight through Friday morning. Snow and northeast winds will intensify Thursday morning, thus strongly reducing visibilities in blowing snow. Total snowfall amounts of 20 to 35 centimeters is expected over these regions.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Winter Storm Warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can call 1-800-361-0233 or send an email to tempsviolent.quebec@ec.gc.ca. You may also tweet reports of severe weather to #meteoqc.
