Extreme Cold Warning

Issued at 15:35 Wednesday 10 February 2016
Summary

The coldest wind chill values will be near minus 40. Very cold air, clear skies and brisk winds will give extreme wind chill values overnight tonight over these areas. In the Waskaganish, Matagami and Chibougamau areas, extreme wind chills will develop again Thursday night. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to tempsviolent.quebec@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #meteoqc.
