Rainfall Warning

Issued at 23:14 Wednesday 01 July 2015
Summary

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. A major low pressure system is giving rain over Central Quebec this evening and is affecting the North Shore and mid-Northern Quebec. Some 40 millimetres of rain has already fallen in the areas between Parent and Québec, and total rainfall will reach between 50 and 70 millimetres before the rain ends Thursday morning. Similar amounts are expected in the other regions with warnings; however, the rain will continue on Thursday in these regions. It should be noted that in the La Grande IV region, it will be primarily the southwestern part that will be affected. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to tempsviolent.quebec@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #meteoqc.
