Extreme Cold WarningIssued at 3:10 p.m. EST Saturday 31 January 2015
A period of very cold wind chills is expected. An Arctic air mass combined with moderate winds will give wind chill values as cold as -40 in Northwestern Quebec. This cold weather will spread toward regions farther south tonight and to regions to the east beginning Sunday evening, giving wind chill values between -38 and -45. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
