Winter Storm watchIssued at 3:57 PM EST Friday 20 December 2013
Another bout of snow and blowing snow could affect these regions beginning Saturday night. Snow could be at times mixed with ice pellets and freezing rain.Details
A series of weather systems will affect the province of Quebec over the next few days. Freezing rain will reach the regions of Extreme Southern Quebec tonight. Saturday morning the freezing precipitation will become intermittent. The public is advised to walk and drive carefully in affected areas. We are monitoring a second system developing over the American Midwest which will bring wintry conditions over all Southwestern Quebec beginning Saturday night. Over Extreme Southern Quebec mostly freezing rain is expected. A mix of snow and ice pellets is possible over the St Lawrence Valley with strong winds that could cause blowing snow. More than 15 centimetres of snow and ice pellets are possible. This system will head toward the Lower St Lawrence and the Gaspésie later on. Travel may be difficult as a result of reduced visibilities.
