Rainfall Warning

Issued at 5:42 p.m. EDT Friday 29 August 2014
Summary

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. A low pressure system over the Plains States will move northeast to reach Lake Superior Saturday morning. Rain at times heavy and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of the low this evening and continue into early Saturday morning. Rainfall amounts near 50 mm are likely with locally higher amounts possible where thunderstorms occur.

Details

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required, so stay tuned to your local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet with the hashtag #ONStorm.
