Snowfall, with total amounts of about 15 cm is expected. The deepening low pressure system has moved into Western Quebec. Snow at times heavy will continue through this morning in the warned regions. Snowfall amounts near 15 CM with local amounts up to 20 CM can be expected by this morning. Blowing snow is also expected in some places this morning. Motorists travelling for the Christmas Holidays should expect driving conditions to deteriorate quickly after the snow arrives. Low visibility in areas of heavier snow and accumulating snow on untreated highways will result in hazardous winter driving conditions.Details
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
