Heat Warning

Issued at 15:43 Monday 27 July 2015
Summary

Very warm temperatures are expected to continue Tuesday. Daytime highs in the 29 to 32 degree range are expected on Tuesday with warm overnight minimum temperatures. Communities close to the shores of Lake Superior should be somewhat cooler and have not been included in the Heat Alert. Drink plenty of liquids especially water before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration. Frequently visit neighbours, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to make sure that they are cool and hydrated. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
