Snow Squall Warning

Issued at 10:37 Thursday 11 February 2016
Summary

Snow squalls are occurring. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate. Lake effect flurries and local snow squalls continue over parts of the regions, in an area east of Owen Sound and well west of Barrie. Affected locales include Meaford, Thornbury, Stayner, Collingwood and Creemore. Further snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm will be possible in this area today, before the snow squall bands weaken and shift east of the regions tonight. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
