Great news for ski resorts, bad news for drivers. Heavy snow squalls could bring 30+ cm of snow to parts of Ontario this week.
Snow Squall watchIssued at 4:59 AM EST Tuesday 10 December 2013
Risk of snow squalls tonight. Cold westerly winds over Lake Superior are generating flurries and local snow squalls. As the winds become more northwesterly tonight there will be a risk of snow squalls moving into the region. Since the band is expected to shift, local snowfall amounts are forecast to be limited to 5 to 10 cm. However, visibilities could suddenly become reduced to near zero in snow and blowing snow. Environment Canada will monitor this situation and issue snow squall warnings if required.Details
