Great news for ski resorts, bad news for drivers. Heavy snow squalls could bring 30+ cm of snow to parts of Ontario this week.
Snow Squall WarningIssued at 8:57 AM EST Tuesday 10 December 2013
Snow squalls today and Wednesday. Cold westerly winds over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are generating flurries and snow squalls. One in particular is extending as far east to Ottawa this morning. Snowfall amounts of 15 cm per 12 hours are possible in the heaviest snow squalls coming onshore between Midland and Parry Sound with lesser amounts expected east to Ottawa. The squalls are expected to shift northward beginning late this morning. In addition, low to nil visibilities in snow and blowing snow will make for hazardous driving conditions.Details
