Rainfall Warning

Issued at 05:17 Thursday 05 May 2016

Rain, at times heavy, is expected.

Rain is forecast to develop over the south coast of Newfoundland this morning and then become heavy at times this evening. Rain will continue through the overnight hours and most of Friday before tapering to drizzle late on Friday. Total rainfall amounts of 45 to 70 mm are expected by Friday afternoon.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to weatherNLWO@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #NLwx.
