A low pressure system continue to gradually track northeastward over the Labrador Sea tonight. For Nain and vicinity: a few additional centimetres of snow is expected to fall tonight. In addition, strong northwesterly winds gusting to 80 km/h are expected to persist this evening. The combination of fresh snow and strong winds will generate blowing snow giving near zero visibility at times. From Hopedale to Makkovik: another 15 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected by Tuesday afternoon. In addition, strong northeasterly winds gusting to 80 km/h early this evening will shift to strong northwesterly winds gusting to 90 km/h this evening. These strong winds combined with fresh snow will generate blizzard conditions with zero visibility in blowing snow. From Red Bay to L'Anse-au-Clair: periods of snow will persist this evening giving another few centimetres of snowfall tonight. In addition, strong southwesterly winds with gusts reaching 100 km/h will continue to create blowing snow and near zero visibility at times. These winds are expected to weaken overnight.
