Blowing Snow Advisory

Issued at 23:34 Wednesday 01 April 2015
Summary

Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected or occurring in some locations. Flurries, local snow squalls, and strong westerly winds gusting to 60 to 80 km/h will cause poor visibilities in blowing snow on Thursday. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Weather Advisories for blowing snow are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Stay up to date with Weatheradio or your local media. Email reports of severe weather to weatherNLWO@ec.gc.ca or call 1-877-815-9900. You may tweet reports using the hashtag #NLwx.
