Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. Strong southerly winds gusting to between 100 and 120 km/h over exposed areas are expected to develop this morning in the west and spread eastward today as an intense low pressure system tracks west of Newfoundland. Behind the low, southwesterly winds gusting to 100 km/h can be expected over parts of western and northern Newfoundland overnight and Tuesday morning.Details
Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Avoid wooded areas to prevent injury from falling trees or branches. Campers should move to sturdy shelters.
