Rainfall Warning

Summary

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. A frontal system will bring rain, at times heavy to the area tonight and throughout Monday. Total rainfall amounts will vary considerably. By Monday evening Howe Sound is forecast to receive 60 to 80 mm of rain. The North Shore and higher terrain north of Lougheed Highway is expected to see up to 50 mm by Monday afternoon. Rainfall in the eastern Fraser Valley will continue into Monday evening similarly giving total rainfall amounts up to 50 mm. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio.
