Wind Chill WarningIssued at 3:22 PM CST Saturday 7 December 2013
Extreme wind chills in the minus forties. This is a warning that extreme wind chill conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..listen for updated statements.Details
A bitterly cold airmass associated with an Arctic high pressure ridge remains over Southern Saskatchewan. The temperature in most areas will again approach or drop below the -30 mark tonight, which combined with southwest winds of 15 to 30 km/h will again give extreme wind chills in the minus forties. A slight warm-up is on tap for Sunday as a weak weather system will bring air that is not quite as cold as well as a few flurries to much of Southern Saskatchewan. With wind chills in the minus forties, frostbite can occur in as little as 5 to 10 minutes.
