Blowing Snow Advisory

Issued at 3:24 p.m. EST Sunday 1 February 2015
Summary

Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected or occurring in some locations. A low pressure system from Colorado will track upward toward the Gulf of St Lawrence Monday. As this system approaches, some regions of Southern Quebec could see over 10 centimetres of snow beginning Monday morning. The snow, accompanied by brisk winds, will give blowing snow and reduce visibilities significantly.

Details

Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Weather Advisories for blowing snow are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can call 1-800-361-0233 or send an email to tempsviolent.quebec@ec.gc.ca. You may also tweet reports of severe weather to #meteoqc.
