Rainfall Warning

Issued at 4:42 a.m. AST Thursday 25 December 2014

Rain, heavy at times continues. Periods of rain - at times heavy - will continue today before ending from west to east this evening as a cold front sweeps across the district. Total rainfall amounts bewteen 25 to 50 millimeters are generally expected across the region with locally up to 75 possible in some areas. Additionally, higher than normal water levels and rough pounding surf can be expected tosday during high tides along parts of the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia and south-facing coastlines of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.


Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
