An area of snow that has spread across the regions is changing to freezing rain and ice pellets from west to east. The change to freezing rain has already occurred in Windsor, Sarnia and London and is expected in the Hamilton, Oakville and Niagara areas later this afternoon. The freezing precipitation will persist for several hours before tapering to some light rain or drizzle as temperatures rise above the freezing mark this evening.Details
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Utility outages may occur. Freezing Rain Warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
