A long episode of rain, at times heavy, continues.

Locations: Central and southern New Brunswick.

Additional rainfall: 25 mm to 50 mm with the highest amounts along the Fundy Coast.

Time span: continuing until tonight or Saturday morning.

Similar storms in the past have caused:
- road shoulder erosion and washouts
- hazardous driving conditions

Remarks: Rain will change to snow tonight over western sections and Saturday morning in the east. Significant runoff from snowmelt will continue today for any areas with remaining snow cover.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Rain transitions to heavy, wet snow tonight.

Total snowfall: 5 to 10 cm, possibly reaching 15 cm over higher terrain.

Maximum wind gusts: northwesterly 60 km/h.

Locations: western to central New Brunswick.

Time span: tonight until Saturday afternoon.

Remarks: Rain will begin to mix with snow this evening then changeover to wet, heavy snow overnight tonight. Snow will diminish by Saturday afternoon.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate. Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions.
